Terms of use

In short

• You must be 18 or older. The account is optional.
• Be kind. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content: hate, harassment, sexual content, violence, dangerous "challenges", spam and scams.
• You can report content and block people inside the app. We review reports and remove content or accounts that break these terms.
• The app is a habit tool. It gives no medical advice. Do challenges at your own risk and talk to a doctor first if in doubt.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Perseid Studio ("we", "us") for the Challenge Tracker app and its online features (the "app"). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The app is not for children. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy policy.

2. The app and accounts

• Everything personal in the app works without an account. An account is optional and adds sync, friends, leaderboards, groups, the activity feed, community templates.
• Give correct information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Do not create accounts to get around a block, a removal or a ban.
• Display names and handles must follow section 4. We can change or remove a name or handle that breaks these terms or that imitates another person or brand.
• You can delete your account at any time (Profile > Account > Delete account, or by email as described on the account deletion page).

3. Your content

"Your content" means what you create or upload: challenges, task and challenge texts, notes, your display name and handle, templates, comments and reactions. You keep your rights in it. Photos and videos you add as proof stay on your phone and are not uploaded.

To run the app you give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display and transmit your content, only as needed to provide the features you use. In particular:

• Content you share through social features (public profile, group challenges, feed posts, comments, community templates) is shown to the people who can see it under your visibility setting.
• A template you publish may be viewed, copied and adapted by other users inside the app, for their own personal use.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users already made of a template, which belong to them. You promise that you have the right to post your content and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights.

4. Rules for content and behaviour

Zero tolerance. Objectionable content has no place in Challenge Tracker. This applies to everything other people can see: profile names and handles, templates, group challenges, comments, reactions and feed posts.

You must not post or do any of the following:

• hate speech, or content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar traits;
• harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or sharing another person's private information;
• sexual or sexually suggestive content, nudity, or anything involving minors in a sexual way;
• graphic violence, or content that promotes terrorism, crime or self-harm;
• "challenges" or tips that push dangerous behaviour, such as eating disorders, extreme fasting or crash diets, dangerous dehydration or overtraining, drug or alcohol abuse, or self-harm;
• illegal content, or content that breaks someone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
• spam, advertising, links to other sites, scams, phishing or attempts to move people to other services (the app also blocks some links and words when you publish a template, but that filter is not complete and does not excuse a breach);
• impersonating a person, organisation or brand, or a misleading name or handle;
• false health claims, or presenting content as medical advice;
• cheating, such as manipulating XP, streaks or leaderboards, or using bots or scripts;
• attacking, probing or overloading the app or its servers, or trying to reach other users' private data.

Do not use the app to harm, mislead or pressure other users. Treat the people you meet in the app the way you would like to be treated.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

Report

You can report a person, a feed post, a comment or a community template from the "..." menu or the flag icon next to it. You choose a reason (spam, abuse, inappropriate, other). A report is private: the person you report does not see who reported them.

Block

You can block a person from their profile menu. Blocking removes the friendship, stops the blocked person from viewing your public profile and from sending you friend requests, and hides them from your own search results. You can see and undo blocks in the friends area of the app.

What we do

We review reports and look at content ourselves where we need to. We act as soon as we reasonably can. When content or behaviour breaks these terms we may, without prior notice and depending on how serious it is:

• remove or hide the content, for example set a template to hidden;
• change or remove a display name or handle;
• warn, limit features, suspend or permanently remove the account;
• report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires or allows it.

We may keep the report and related records as needed for safety and legal reasons. If you think we made a mistake, email us at support@perseidstudio.app and we will look at it again. We do not promise to review or remove all objectionable content, but we take reports seriously.

6. Ending your use

• By you: you can stop using the app at any time, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Deleting the account removes your online data as described in the privacy policy and on the account deletion page.
• By us: we may suspend or end your account or access to some features if you break these terms, if the law requires it, if your use puts others or the service at risk, or if we stop offering the app or a feature. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Your local data on your phone stays with you, and the personal parts of the app keep working without an account.
• Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 3, 7, 14 and 15) continue after the agreement ends.

7. No medical advice

Challenge Tracker is a habit and challenge tracker. It is not a medical device and does not give medical, nutrition or fitness-therapy advice. Challenge texts, catalog entries, community templates and Health Connect figures are general information only. They do not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and they are not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian or qualified trainer. Never ignore professional advice, or delay getting it, because of something in the app. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

8. Doing challenges safely

Physical, diet, sleep and mental challenges can be hard. You decide what to do, and you do it at your own risk. Check with a doctor before you start an intense plan, especially if you are pregnant, have a health condition, take medication or are unsure. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or distress. Adjust or skip a task whenever you need to. Strict mode and streaks are game rules, not a reason to hurt yourself.

Challenge names such as "75 day challenge", "21 day challenge" or "66 day challenge" are generic descriptions of a length of time. The app is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the owner of any third-party challenge programme or trademark.

9. AI coach (planned)

An AI coach feature may be added later. We will update these terms and the privacy policy before it processes any data.

10. Ads and purchases

The app is free and can show ads from Google AdMob. Some features may be offered as purchases through Google Play (for example removing ads). Purchases are made, billed and refunded under Google Play's terms and policies. We do not see your payment details. Prices and features that are free now may change; a change does not take away something you already paid for under the terms of that purchase.

11. Third-party services

The app uses services from Google, such as Google Sign-In, Firebase, AdMob, Google Play and Health Connect. Your use of them is also subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for the content of sites you reach through links.

12. Our rights in the app

The app, its design, code, texts, catalog of challenges, sounds and artwork belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on your own devices. You may not copy, sell, rent, reverse engineer or build a competing service from the app, except where the law gives you that right.

13. Availability and changes

We try to keep the app running, but online features can be unavailable, change or be removed, for example because of maintenance, third-party outages or limits of free services. Personal tracking works offline. We may update the app and its features over time. Keep a backup (Settings > Your data > Export) if your data matters to you.

14. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for what other users post.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profit or loss of streaks or XP. Our total liability for any claim connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intent or gross negligence, and it does not take away rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country where Perseid Studio is established, as shown on the Google Play listing of the app, without taking away the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live. Please contact us first at support@perseidstudio.app so we can try to solve the problem. Where the law lets you, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app gets new features. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes we will tell you in the app or in the release notes. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
